Reducing Our Carbon Footprint: The Integrated Green Energy Solutions Process vs Conventional Crude Diesel
Integrated Green Energy Solutions commissioned an analysis for the inputs and waste products from the WPTF process compared to emissions for low-sulphur diesel and petrol generated. The carbon footprint for the products were evaluated using the Global Climate Change Impact method.
When utilising end of life plastic the Integrated Green Energy Solutions process releases 0.25kg CO2 eq. per kg of low sulphur fuel produced. By comparison the production of fuel in Australia from crude oil releases 0.41 kg CO2 eq. / kg of low sulphur diesel produced, and 0.37 kg CO2 eq. / kg of low sulphur petrol produced.
Put simply, the production of fuel from end of life plastics utilising the Integrated Green Energy Solutions production method will result in up to a 38% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over the production of the same amount of fuel utilising crude oil.
